Behind Swiss Key Nutrition
My Roots
My journey into nutrition has deep roots, beginning in Portugal, where food was a cherished family ritual. I grew up surrounded by family gatherings, and vibrant, garden fresh food. I have countless memories of market trips with my mother or grandmother, where we’d hand-pick the day’s vegetables, still carrying the scent of the earth. The vivid colors and strong aromas of those market stalls, and the satisfaction of knowing where every ingredient came from, deeply shaped my relationship with food.
In my early 20s in Switzerland, I encountered health challenges. Doctors attributed my persistent digestive issues to work stress. My body was in complete protest; food wasn’t processing properly, and my vitamin levels were too low. The medication prescribed by doctors only provided a few hours of relief, and I began to wonder if feeling truly well was even possible.
My Journey
Life, however, had other plans. We moved to Hong Kong, where I spent over six transformative years. It was there that I discovered Traditional Chinese Medicine and Chinese Nutrition, diving deep into both Western and Eastern nutritional principles. This new chapter reignited my passion for learning about nutrition, shaping the path I would follow.
During my time in Hong Kong, I also faced the heartbreak of miscarriages. Yet, through the support of doctors, the unwavering support of my loving husband, and a complete change in my nutrition, I was able to naturally and successfully carry two beautiful pregnancies to term. These experiences further strengthened my belief in the profound role nutrition plays in overcoming challenging health hurdles.
Building My Expertise
Back in Switzerland, with my two children and a supportive husband, I embraced motherhood. Realising that my previous career was no longer aligned with my family life and values, I made the decision to return to school. I pursued my passion in earnest, earning my Diploma in Nutrition in Geneva. The examination had an exam and a research project, My research project was about nutrition in gifted children, a topic close to my heart.
Looking Back
I am somehow grateful for the challenges I faced, as they have shaped my approach to health and well-being. Today, I am passionate about helping others on their own journeys toward optimal nutrition health and a peaceful relationship with their bodies. My expertise is built on a detailed understanding of the body’s complex systems, focusing on addressing root causes through tailored dietary recommendations, and lifestyle changes. I work collaboratively with my patients to restore balance and achieve their goals.
